It’s almost like a grand campaign of chess, where the king can enter an inappropriate relationship with a horse, or become possessed by a devil. Strategy is vital, as is protecting your lands from threats both inside your court and outside of your lands. There is also no option to invite court physicians or build hospitals which is, as I have gathered, a core feature of the DLC. I'm still learning the ropes so I would still like to avoid this mechanic for now and finish this playthrough which I'm having fun with. Especially since this is a save game started without the DLC. But I did turn it off so I don't get how or why this is happening.
From what I have gathered this is a feature of the Reaper's due DLC.
But for some reason the black plague started out of random. I clearly don't have a new Council tab, as I have seen in tutorials and let's plays. But I turned it of as I'm still in a playthrough without it. Yesterday I bought the DLC reaper's due(as well as conclave, holy fury and monks and mystics).
